Spring Meeting: Ingreborne Links GC

This is a premium inland Links course, near Rainham off the M25/A12. I am told this course is playable all year round due to its sub-soil structure, and is host to 3 PGA tournaments in 2024; the first is in May 2024 so I am advised that the course will be primed early April in readiness for this competition.

Proposed meeting consists of:
i. Bacon Roll and Coffee on arrival
ii. 9 hole fun comp eg Waltz
iii. 1 course Lunch (Ham, Egg and Chips)
iv. 18 hole Stableford singles
v. 2 course Dinner (menu will be distributed nearer time to get consensus on 1 option for Main and Dessert).

Meeting Prizes

9 hole fun competition
18 hole Singles Stableford competition
Mrs W A Jones Rose Bowl
Hope Springs Trophy
Veterans Prize
Nearest the Pin (par 3)
Nearest the Pin (in 2 on a par 4)
3 Tenners (sum of S’Ford scores on all Par 3s)

Summer Meeting: Crondon Park GC

This is a parkland course just off the A12 near Stock. OSGC has not been back here for some years but I played in the Summer and found it to have matured quite nicely. A lot of the bunkers were being repaired but I am told these should be mostly/all fixed by next summer. Has the longest Par 5 in Essex I believe at some 646yds off the black tees but a more modest 566yds off the yellow – we’ll be playing this as the NP in 3.

Proposed meeting consists of:
i. Bacon Roll and Coffee on arrival
ii. 9 hole fun comp eg Waltz
iii. 1 course Lunch (Pizza is planned)
iv. 18 hole Medal singles
v. 2 course Dinner (menu will be distributed nearer time to get consensus on 1 option for Main and Dessert)

Meeting Prizes

9 hole fun competition
18 hole Singles Medal competition
Challenge Cup (Gross Medal)
Emmett Cup (Net Medal)
Hope Trophy (20+ WHS)
Veterans Cup
Nearest the Pin (par 3)
Nearest the Pin (in 3 on a par 5)
3 Tenners (sum of S’Ford scores on all Par 3s)

This is a coastal course that has a great mix of both Links and Parkland holes. A favourite course of mine as interesting, challenging and great fun to play. A bit off the usual M25/A12 track but worth making the effort to visit.

Proposed meeting consists of:
i. Bacon Roll and Coffee on arrival
ii. 9 hole fun comp eg Waltz
iii. 1 course Lunch
iv. 18 hole Stableford singles
v. 2 course Dinner (Fish 'n' Chips plus Dessert)

SEPT

Autumn Meeting: Brickendon Grange GC

This is a Parkland course, where our own Phil Burrows will be Vice Captain in 2024. I must thank Phil for all his help in securing this deal (we have a Friday but at Thursday pricing). We are in Hertfordshire I think, just off the M25. The OSGC has been here at least once before but some years ago. Phil advises that the date we have is just before the Club Championship so the course should be in its best condition for us - no excuses...!

Proposed meeting consists of:
i. Big Breakfast and coffee on arrival (I think this is full English!)
ii. 18 hole Stableford singles
iii. 2 course Dinner (menu will be distributed nearer time to get consensus on 1 option for Main and Dessert)
iv. OSGC AGM

Meeting Prizes

18 hole Singles Stableford competition
Ron Dudley Memorial Trophy
1970 Captain Trophy (0-18 WHS)
1970 Captain Trophy (19+ WHS)
Veterans Trophy
Nearest the Pin (par 3)
Nearest the Pin (in 2 on a par 4)
3 Tenners (sum of S’Ford scores on all Par 3s)
Mac Price Player of Year (best total of Stableford points)
3 Tenners Player of the Year (best total of the 3 Tenners points in the 3 meetings)
Cock House Trophy (Best total of best 3 Stableford points at each meeting for each house)
