The return of the Chin-wag

  • Tuesday 23rd January 2024
  • 7 PM GMT

As many of you will remember we began quarterly “Chin-wags” for the OSA members during lockdown, enabling us to connect via Zoom, with friends old and new around the country and indeed around the world. In those dark times it was great to share memories with fellow Old Boys and Girls.

As we enter 2024, Andy Crow (Chair of the OSA Executive Committee) is re-booting this initiative which he created as President in 2020. The sessions will give Andy an opportunity to update you all on the Association and of course have some great chats in the breakout rooms.

If you would like to join the call please email Andy at and he will send you the invite link a couple of days beforehand.

OSA Wine Tasting Evening

The Old Southendian Association invites you to join us for a relaxed evening’s wine tasting and buffet. Savour tastes from artisan wine growers and makers from several of Italy’s favourite wine regions, with full tasting notes provided. We will be including a chance to taste the wine of our hosts for the evening Jan and Ian Steel who consider their fellow growers friends, and will tell the stories behind the wines in their own informative but entertaining style! They have prepared a selection of wines perfect to be enjoyed on a warm summer evening

We will continue the evening enjoying a paired finger and fork buffet of Italian inspired delicacies.

Tickets for this event will be £40 and are strictly limited to 35 places. We are pleased to be able to offer the wines to order at the event for your enjoyment at home, with a donation from every bottle sold (at still less than retail prices) to the Association.
