The Service was held in the School Hall at 8.45 a.m., in the presence of Michael Frampton, President of the Association and Members of the Association.
Guests included the Mayor of Southend on Sea, Gwen Horrigan, David Amess MP (Southend West) & James Duddridge MP (Rochford & Southend East) together with members of the school's Governing Body, Parents Association & former members of staff.
The Service included a reflection upon some of the human stories behind the names on the 1914-1918 board - based upon research undertaken by Lesley Iles & John Baker. The President of the Association read 'In Memoriam' - a poem written by H.E. Dudley as a pupil for the school Magazine in 1915 - he was later killed in action in 1917.
The Address was given by Father Shaun Conlon, and the school's Concert Band played 'Requiem for a Soldier'.
During the Silence, the School Captain turned a page in each of the Memorial Books & the President and the Chairman of Governors laid wreaths at the Memorials.
